Habitat for Humanity Spring has arrived, & with it comes plans for 11 more Habitat homes for low income working families in need. This year we will be supplying morning coffee break for 100 volunteers on Saturday, May 31st. I have posted a sign-up sheet in the hall for anyone who would like to help out with baking, preparing fruit trays (we will be starting quite early as we need to be at the site – close to Jefferson & Adsum- by 9:30 a.m.) & serving at the site. If you can not help out on that day, a small donation towards our costs would be appreciated – just put it in an envelope marked Habitat & put it in the offering. Feel free to call me at (204) 422-8430 if you have any questions. Thank you! Estelle Haines

We are planning a five week series for training care givers, Wednesday evenings, April 16-23-30-May 7- May 14, 7-9 p.m. This is very basic orientation stuff for people who are already caregivers or are in caring relationships or might be in caring relationships – and who isn’t? Topics cover the person of the caregiver and care receiver; listening and caring skills; spiritual care; and self-care. There is no cost. And there is no expectation that participants must sign up for anything. It’s merely to be a bit more effective and bring a Christian dimension to what we do as people called to “love one another.” Sessions will be taught by Pastor Dave Saude, Diaconal Intern Kris Taylor and Parish Nurse, Brenda Gervais. We would enjoy having your members share in this growth experience. Please invite them and let us know how many we could expect.
