Parish Events

The Conference Room, Library, & Nursery rooms are reserved for church groups / programs only. (The rooms
are unavailable for rent until further notice).
NEW: Worship will start at River Park Gardens on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 2:30 pm.  Worship will no longer be held at Meadowood Manor
due to waning support. Barbara Crow will continue to visit parishioners there.
CHANGE: Parish Conference has been rescheduled from Oct. 17 & 18 to January 16 & 17/09.
UPCOMING: The Bishop and honoured guests will be joining us October 5 following the church service to bless the building renovations.

Vital Seniors: Our luncheon is coming up September 30 at noon. Our after dinner speaker is from BoniVital. The 40-minute topic is on eye care,
“I Spy With My Aging Eye”. Anyone wishing to purchase a membership card see Fran Duffey, Gerry Brown, or Ray Hersley.

Enrich the lives of others and your own by volunteering at Riverview Health Centre. No experience required, only a desire to serve. Opportunities are available morning, afternoon, and evening seven days a week. We are looking for volunteers to assist in a variety of areas including: one-to-one visiting, gift shop cashiers, recreational activities, special events, Adult Day Programs and other services. Prayers for Peace & Justice: Every Thurs. morning, an ecumenical group meet at 9 am (note change of time) in St. Matthew/Maryland Community Ministry to give prayer support to Peace & Justice ministries, modeled on Iona prayer.

St. Aidan’s is pleased to re-offer the “CrossCurrent program”, beginning September 29, and continuing for 7 Monday evenings (except Thanksgiving). CrossCurrent is designed to work with individuals and couples who have difficulties in many circumstances, such as emotional dependency, inability to relate meaningfully to others, addiction to pornography, infidelity in relationships, unwanted same-sex attraction, or other relational issues. Parish Garage Sale September 26th-27th 2008: Help needed today after service. All able-bodied persons- any age- are encouraged to help set up garage sale items in the lower hall. “Many hands make light work” Help is needed all week to set up table displays. If you still have items for sale please bring them as early in the week as possible. Workers are here from 9am to 3:30 pm daily.
Is this your year to join the choir? Rehearsals are an enjoyable blend of singing and socializing. All that is required is enthusiasm. Choir will meet on Wednesdays (note the new day) 7:30 – 9:00 beginning September 10. Hope to see you there!
I would like to thank everyone who has volunteered their time for Sideperson duties over the years. The schedule has been made up and distributed until June 2009, as I am retiring from this ministry and hope that someone will volunteer to take this over as I am planning to move out of the area in the near future and may not be able to attend as often as I would like. Welcome to another season of “Family Days” - Come join the fun on Sun., Sept. 28 3:30 – 6:30pm as we explore the corn maze for some amazing thrills. The corn maze is located south on St. Mary’s Rd, about 10 minutes from the perimeter just a few kilometers north of St. Adolphe. It is a wonderful place as it offers something for ALL ages. The maze can be navigated between 1 – 2 hours, or more if you are unlucky!!! There is a petting zoo & a hay bale pyramid for climbing. As a group, we will have a gas Bar B Q & can bring stuff for a supper. Also a fire pit, complete with wood. We also have the option of a hay ride for an extra fee. Parish Garage Sale September 26th-27th 2008: Volunteer’s Needed - come dressed to work. Next Sunday (September 21st) Help is needed after service in setting up Sherstone Hall for our Garage Sale. Also help is needed to unpack and display items for the sale. Volunteers will be here from 9am – 3pm from Monday – Thursday and also Monday evening from 6-9pm. Come and join us.

Vital Seniors has now started their 18th year. Line Dancing classes started Friday, September 5 with Carpet Bowling commencing October 7th. Scrabble on Monday; Bridge as usual every Thursday. At our annual meeting in June over $3300 was given to the church covering the cost of reupholstering our 100 casual chairs. Our first luncheon will be on September 30.
