Join us for a reception in honour of the confirmands after this mornings service.

This year’s Easter offering will be directed to assist individuals in Africa and the Middle East to reunite with families here in Manitoba and the Jubilee fund which operates mainly in Winnipeg. The Jubilee Fund advocates economic opportunity for all members of society, through loan guarantees for community economic development. It deals in three areas : affordable housing, small business and community/social projects mainly daycares and training centres. Our parish has supported the Fund annually since 2000.


Sunday May 1st: Please join us in celebration of our confirmands Luc, Amadea, Jen, Alicia and Sophie and for Barbara for reception into the Anglican church. The Bishop will be joining us and refreshments will be served after the service. All are welcome!


Brian Rivers will be ordained on June 1st, 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Cathedral. You may remember Brian and his wife Karen from Brian’s ministry placement with us.


“Many hands make light work”
Today we will be setting up the upper hall following the celebration of the new confirmands.
Help is needed all week to set up table displays. If you still have items for sale please bring them as early in the week as possible. Workers are here from 9am to 3:30 pm daily.


Tia McGraff is an international Country recording artist, currently #25 on
the Nashville International Indie charts with "Radical Road". She is a high
school friend, who has offered to do a benefit series for Winnipeg community
ministry projects. May 6 - at St Paul's Fort Garry - for St Matthew's Maryland Community
Ministry, May 7 - at Holy Rosary Osborne Village - for Oak Table Community Ministry

Special Dialogue on Southern Sudan 6 - 9 p.m, April 26, Convocation Hall, University of Winnipeg. The Rt. Rev. Abraham Nhial, Bishop of the Diocese of Aweil, will be speaking on the situation in Southern Sudan since the referendum to secede in January, 2011. All are welcome to attend.

Volunteers Needed!!
April 30th Saturday @ 7pm help is needed for set up of the lower hall.
May 1st Sunday we will be setting up the upper hall following the celebration of the new confirmands.
Also help is needed to unpack and display items for the sale. Volunteers will be here from 9am – 3pm from Monday – Thursday and also Monday evening from 6-9pm. Come and join us.

The Flowering of the Cross will take place on Easter Sunday. Please bring flowers for use in this special event.

Lillies for Easter: Pleas sign up to purchase a Lilly for the altar on Easter. Sign-up sheet is on the back table.

Volunteers needed: Please consider volunteering to make tea/coffee and provide cookies for the Social time following the Service. Pam or Geri can explain what is required to make it a success. A sign-up sheet is located on the refreshment table or on the upper-hall refrigerator.

All hands are needed to work for this parish fundraiser. In addition to all donations- your help is needed on: May 2nd to 5th from 9am – 3pm for sorting and pricing
May 6th and 7th for the actual sale, May 7th at 12noon for cleanup after the sale.

Please contact Nancy or John AT 254-2574. Come and share in the fellowship of St. Mary Magdalene. We’re all in this together. Please note the following list of items we don’t accept at the garage sale: Used mattresses, pillows, children’s car seats, strollers, cribs, baby gates, high chairs, playpens and helmets. We also do not accept computers, old televisions, old electronics, readers digest, weekly magazine publications or encyclopaedias.

Our Lenten Adult Education takes place after worship. The series will continue each Sunday until April 10th. Preston will be leading us through the letter to the Colossians. Come for one, some, or all the sessions, as you are able. Light refreshments will be served.


Mothering Sunday Service: The Annual Gathering of Anglican Disciples in the Diocese of Rupert’s Land takes place on Sunday April 3, 2011 7:30 PM at St. John’s Cathedral, 135 Anderson Ave. Winnipeg. Bishop Donald Phillips will preach “The Great Commandment or The Great Commission?” Together we will re-affirm our baptismal and ordination vows. The Bishop will also bless the sacred oils. Reception will follow in the John West Hall.

The Pace Exercise group will begin a new 10 week session at St. Mary Magdalene on Wednesdays’ from 11:00 am-12:00 pm beginning March 30th. Please contact Gerry Brown 257-5027 or Bernice Taylor 253-9244 for details.
